Most flooring problems trace back to preparation that wasn't checked properly. Dublin Surface Works removes the old covering, checks the exposed base for level, moisture and damage, and carries out the preparation needed before new flooring is fitted.

Uneven or damaged areas of the subfloor are levelled or repaired so the new floor has a sound base.
Damp & moisture checks
The subfloor is checked for moisture issues that could affect the new flooring, with any additional work explained before it proceeds.

Can the subfloor only be checked properly after the old floor is removed?
Yes. We can give an initial view from photos and a visual check, but the subfloor can only be fully assessed once the existing covering is lifted.
What happens if the subfloor needs more work than expected?
We explain what we've found, why it matters and the additional price before continuing, so nothing is added without your agreement.
Do you handle damp or moisture issues in the subfloor?
We can identify moisture issues and advise on next steps. Depending on the cause, this may involve a membrane, further investigation or a specialist referral.
Can you prepare a subfloor without fitting the new flooring?
Yes. Preparation can be quoted as a standalone job, for example if you're supplying your own fitters or a separate flooring contractor.
Does preparation cost extra on top of a flooring quote?
Preparation is listed as part of the written quote wherever possible. Any preparation only identified once the old floor is removed is explained and agreed before it proceeds.
