Founding crew, Dublin Surface Works
Our specialist craft

Built when Dublin was Georgian.
Still standing beneath your carpet.

Under the carpets in a lot of Dublin’s older homes, there’s still original pitch pine or parquet from the Georgian and Victorian days. Floors like that can outlast generations, if they’re looked after properly.

Most crews treat every floor the same way. We don’t. Original period floors get slower prep and gentler passes, because once that timber is gone, it’s gone for good.

Who you’re hiring

Small on purpose

We’re a new, small Dublin crew: small enough that whoever quotes your job is also the person managing it, start to finish. No call centre, and no handing your job off to a stranger. On bathroom renovations, where plumbing or electrical work needs a certified specialist, we bring in the same approved people every time and stay on-site managing the work ourselves.

We’re building our name one job at a time, starting with Dublin’s older homes. Every project gets photographed start to finish, so our portfolio (and your confidence in us) grows together.

Good to know

Is the work really dust-free?
Our machines run with professional dust-extraction, so airborne dust is heavily reduced. Most homes stay fully liveable during the work. Some fine residue is normal with any prep job; we leave the room clean when we finish.
How long does a room take?
Most single rooms take 1–2 days including prep and finish drying time. We’ll give you an exact timeline with your written quote.
Can you restore very old or antique floors, or are they too far gone?
Usually, yes. Original pitch pine and parquet can often be saved even when it looks past its best. This is our specialty. We’ll always tell you honestly if a floor needs partial board replacement rather than full restoration.
Do I need to move out during work?
No, though we’ll ask you to stay off the floor itself while it’s being finished. We work room-by-room where possible so the rest of your home stays usable.
How is pricing calculated?
By floor area, floor condition and finish chosen. You’ll get one clear written price after a free survey, with no surprise costs added afterward.
